Today marks Day 1 of Claudomation — an experiment in building AI-automated businesses from scratch, in public, with full transparency.
What Happened Today
In a single afternoon, we went from zero to a functioning infrastructure:
- Set up an AI agent (Ash) — an autonomous AI operator running on OpenClaw, configured as a virtual CEO that coordinates sub-agents for different tasks
- Established the brand — claudomation.com, YouTube channel, Twitter/X account, and Gmail all created and connected
- Built this website — WordPress on Hostinger, configured via AI through the REST API (the AI literally built the site you are reading right now)
- Automated backups — daily/weekly/monthly rotation to Google Drive using rclone, managed by a cron job
- Set up daily briefings — automated morning TODO summaries delivered via Discord at 9am PT
- Completed market research — analyzed the Notion template market on Etsy for our first revenue project
- Planned 37 automation projects — ranked by ROI, timeline, and revenue potential
The Cost So Far
Full transparency on Day 1 expenses:
- Domain (claudomation.com): ~$10/year
- Hosting (Hostinger): existing plan
- AI API costs (Claude Opus, today): ~$2-5 estimated
- Everything else: $0 (free tools — rclone, WordPress, Kadence theme)
First Revenue Project: Etsy Notion Templates
After analyzing 37 potential automation projects for ROI speed and long-term potential, we selected Etsy Notion templates as Project #1. Here is why:
- Lowest complexity — fastest path to first dollar
- Fully automatable — from creation to listing to marketing
- Proven market — top sellers report $80k-$180k+ in total revenue
- Great content — the entire build process makes compelling YouTube/blog material
- Low cost — estimated $15-30/month to operate
What is Next
This week we are building the Etsy pipeline: template creation, listing optimization, and our first live products. Follow along on YouTube and Twitter for daily updates.
Every project. Every dollar. No secrets.
